Phở (Noodle soup):

A visit to Hanoi wouldn’t be complete without sampling one of the top local foods: pho (pronounced fuh). This fragrant and filling beef noodle soup is traditionally eaten first thing in the morning or late at night and is a much-loved, though nonetheless prosaic, dish for the Vietnamese, who eat it on a daily basis.

Phở (noodle soup) – this top local foods was “invented” in the early 20th century. served with chicken or beef. Each type of meat entails a variety of sub-dish, using from beef tenderloin to beef brisket, chicken wing to chicken thigh. The tip is, look for the place where locals gather the most and you know where you should order and sit down.

Pho 10 – 10 Ly Quoc Su, in Hanoi’s old quarter is a well-respected purveyor, its kitchen’s windows fogged-up by the steam from the huge vats of bubbling stock. A bowl of the good stuff will set you back 30,000 Dong, about 1.5USD. Served with handfuls of chili, bean sprouts and a good squeeze of lime.
